The Marías Superclean Vol. I & II

The Marías Superclean Vol. I & II is a reimagined visual identity project for the band’s iconic albums, translating their sensual, bilingual psych-soul sound into a typographic system. The project centers the emotional texture of their music and emphasizes multi-sensory experiences through print and digital design.

Scope included typographic system development, album packaging, visual collateral, and social cause alignment.

Approach

Grounded in the emotional and cultural resonance of The Marías’ music, the process began with lyrical analysis, visual research, and sound mapping to distill the tone and texture of their identity. Initial explorations included typographic studies, expressive lettering, and analog material experiments. These informed a visual language that emphasized softness, distortion, and multi-sensory experience. Lo-fi sketches evolved into hi-fi layouts and mockups, with final assets aligning the band’s aesthetic with the intimacy and depth of their sound.
