Frothy Magazine

Frothy Magazine is a Gainesville-based publication centered on sustainable living, DIY culture, and community-building. Founded by Emily Lube and Tori Vargas, Frothy shares digestible content through seasonal print issues, digital resources, and local events—including clothing swaps and recipe exchanges.

Scope included custom logotype design and refinement for print and digital platforms, in alignment with the founders’ mission.

Approach

The design process began with exploratory sketches guided by the client’s keywords: organic, homemade, inviting, and fluid. Drawing inspiration from the bubbly connotation of “frothy” and the zine’s DIY roots, the logotype was built to feel hand-touched and flexible—able to sit comfortably on screen or in print.

Outcomes

The final logotype balances a soft typographic form with subtle quirks that reflect the magazine’s grassroots ethos. It was delivered as part of a visual identity suite and used across Frothy’s digital communications, printed issues, and event promotions.
